     SUMMARY:  Five Southern religious leaders, a Rabbi, a Muslim, a Priest, a Baptist Reverend, and an Episcopal Bishop are invited to a 7-hour dinner in the documentary "Sitting at God's Table" where they take on the difficult topics of our day as they try to make sense of why we do what we do in the name of God.  

The documentary features RABBI LUCY DINNER, Senior Rabbi at Temple Beth Or, PRESIDING BISHOP MICHAEL CURRY of the Episcopal Church, DAVID HAILEY leads the Hayes Barton Baptist Church, SHAKIL AHMED is founder of The Islamic Association of Cary, and FATHER MARK REAMER is the former Senior Priest for The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi; now he is Assist. to the President for Franciscan Mission, Siena College, Loudonville, NY, & filmmaker Ellen Shepard.

PRODUCER & DIRECTOR:

ELLEN SHEPARD is an independent producer and director of documentaries at E. Shepard Productions.  Her most current production is the YouTube channel "LGBTQ & About My Soul". Ellen's most recent full-length documentary “Sitting at God's Table" has had numerous screenings, including at the NC Museum of History as part of their Billy Graham Exhibit and was an Official Selection at the Indigo Moon Film Festival and at the Cary Theater. Her documentaries include “Teen Rap – a Discussion in Teen Suicide” and “My Parents Are Growing Old and So Am I” which won First Place at the North Carolina Film Festival. For 16 years she was Assistant Professor of Film at Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC, where she developed their BA degree in Film and taught advanced classes in film production, including documentary filmmaking and screenwriting.  She has served on the Think Tank for the NC Museum of Art in their Education Department. She relocated to Raleigh from Los Angeles 21 years ago where she was Senior Producer/Director of Documentaries and Educational Media at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

SAM GRIFFIN has an impressive body of work on the Discovery Channel, HBO documentaries, news coverage for 20/20, Nightline, plus regional and National commercials.

EDITOR & 2nd UNIT DIRECTOR:

ERIC BARSTOW, MFA in Experimental & Documentary Arts at Duke University, is currently the Videographer for Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute. Eric has shot and edited for numerous clients including the Haitian Cultural Foundation, Eaton Corporation, Revlon, Inc, North Carolina Museum of Art, and was recently videographer at the 50th Anniversary of Freedom Summer at Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS.
